The Mission of the Detroit Swedish Foundation is to provide financial support to Swedish-American organizations and individuals, funding projects to preserve and celebrate our Swedish heritage in Michigan.
They are a nonprofit organization focused on celebrating and supporting Swedish culture and events, partnering with local Swedish businesses and associations. Through their collaboration with the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce – Detroit (SACC), they are able to financially assist Swedish-American businesses to thrive in the Detroit area. These businesses bring Swedish traditions, foods, products, and music to the metro Detroit area, making it a greater and more diverse place for current and future generations.
For more then 35-years they have been the link to our homeland for hundreds of metro Detroiters. Chartered in 1966 the Detroit Swedish Foundation (formerly known as the Detroit Swedish Council) is one of the oldest organizations of its kind, and along with their colleagues in Philadelphia, San Francisco and Delaware, they are one of the founding members of the Swedish Council of America.
